Hello all!

I use descriptions of two of my on-line SWI workshops ("Working with the Tools of SWI" and "Spelling-out Orthography") and two moving messages from moms of kids experiences with SWI to address many key concepts of SWI. In particular, address how SWI practice uses explicit instruction that provides what I would argue is more effective 'orthographic mapping'.

I also share a rediscovered inspiring piece from William Van Cleave titled "Growing Pains: Recognizing (and Coming to Accept) <bi>" traces his years’ long scholarly investigation of words with these structures.
